How to crate train an American Eskimo

Crate training is one of the fastest and most effective ways to keep your puppy from pooping in the house. Crate training is based on one of the American Eskimo's instincts, which is not to poop in his own room, and this is something you want to avoid if possible. If he starts to fuss, put a leash on him and take him outside.

There are a few things to keep in mind when crate training your American Eskimo. Only use them when you are home and they are still in the cage. American Eskimos are social creatures, so don't leave them in their cage or unattended for more than a couple of hours, even if it's just for a short time. Don't keep the cage away from everyone. American Eskimos want to be part of a family and are happier in a room with lots of people than in a room with no people, even if they are locked in a cage. Once your American Eskimo is clean, you can remove the crate door. Now your American Eskimo has its own space and can come and go as it pleases in the house.
